This morning’s Full Moon feels especially close to my heart.
She’s full in Cancer — my sun sign.
I was born on July 16, under Cancer energy, which means something very specific in astrology:
Cancer is ruled by the Moon.
So when the Moon is full in Cancer, it’s not just a lunar event for me —
it’s a homecoming.
Cancer energy governs:
• safety
• emotional truth
• nourishment
• home (inside and out)
• the nervous system
• the body’s need to feel held
Because the Moon governs sleep, intuition, emotions, and rhythm, Cancer women often feel things early and deeply — sometimes before we have words for them.
And often seeing things and events before they actualize.
For a long time, I didn’t understand this.
I just knew I felt everything.
That I needed more rest than most.
And that when I was exhausted, I lost trust with myself.
This Cancer Full Moon reminds me why sleep became my medicine.
Because when the Moon rules your sign, rest is — foundational.
Sleep is how Cancer energy regulates.
Sleep is how intuition clears.
Sleep is how emotional weight releases.
And once I honored that, something shifted.
I trusted myself again.
That trust is what allowed me to hold space for others, in a sustainable way not in a “please like me kind of way” that was from childhood patterns of trying to fit in.
So I could feel safe to..
To teach.
To guide.
To create environments where women could soften.
It’s beautiful when that happens.
That’s the gift of Cancer when it’s supported:
the ability to help others feel safe enough to rest,
safe enough to listen,
safe enough to heal.
You don’t have to be a Cancer to feel this Moon.
If you’re sensitive, intuitive, tired, or emotionally full right now —
this energy is speaking to you too.
This is the Wolf Full Moon —
the first Full Moon of the year,
and one of the most emotionally potent of the cycle.
Cancer Full Moons illuminate:
• where we’ve been strong when we needed support
• where the nervous system is asking to be tended to not forced to fit in
• where rest could rebuild self-trust
This is a come home Moon.
A Simple Cancer Full Moon Morning Ritual (10 minutes)
This is the ritual I’m practicing today — especially meaningful under this Moon.
Begin with the body
Place one hand on your heart and one on your lower belly.
Take five slow breaths, letting the exhale be 2x longer than the inhale.
Tell your body quietly: I’m here.
Ask the Moon
What would help me feel safer today?
Safety is when your nervous system can stop being on guard, on alert. Safety could feel like your body relaxing, your breath slows, your shoulders drop, or you don’t feel rush from the inside. You stop scanning for what could go wrong. You can move at your own pace, without guilt. You’re not constantly overriding your needs. You don’t have to prove anything. You feel safe in your sense of self through acceptance.
Safe to also trust the timing of things when you’ve given your best. Now you allow universe to work out the details.
There are just some ways.
Let the answer be whatever it is.
Let it come from the body, not the mind.
Set a lunar intention (not a goal)
Cancer energy responds to care, not forcing an outcome.
Choose one sentence as your tone for the day:
• “I move at the speed of safety.”
• “Sleep restores my mental clarity.”
• “I can be gentle and still powerful.”
Seal with warmth
Cancer responds to warmth.
Tea. Warm water. A blanket. Morning sunlight.
Let comfort be medicine today.
This Full Moon is asking you to listen.
And tonight, if your body wants more sleep — honor that.
That’s how lunar wisdom integrates.
Through rest.
Through safety.
Through the body.
With love from one Cancer heart to yours,
Sweet Dreams Maria 💗
PS: Cancer Full Moons are powerful for releasing old emotional armor. If you can, go to bed a little earlier tonight — the Moon does her deepest work through sleep.
