I’ve had nights I couldn’t sleep.

Nights when my mind wouldn’t stop rehashing, thinking, and wondering.

And before I know it, I’m wide awake, caught between worrying about the uncertainty of the future and the instability of life.

Maybe you’ve been there too.

Even in those moments, even in the heaviness, I still had a choice. And I chose to release. I chose to surrender. I chose to lay down what wasn’t mine to carry through the night.

And when I did, I remembered something essential: this is a benevolent universe. A kind, generous, life-giving universe. One that is working in your favor, even when you can’t see it.

When you realize this at the deepest level—when you feel it in your soul—you begin to notice that life itself is guiding you. Almost like a navigation system inside, gently directing and redirecting you back onto the path you were always meant to take.

That awareness softens the fear. It lets you rest. Because you finally know: even when it looks messy, even when it feels uncertain, you’re being carried.

Why Sleep Feels So Hard in Times of Unrest

Your nervous system is designed to protect you. When you feel unsafe, worried, or uncertain, it kicks into alert mode. And alert mode doesn’t switch off just because it’s bedtime.

That’s why you lie there awake, heart racing, mind buzzing. The body is bracing for danger, even in your own safe bed.

But when you remember that the universe is not against you—it’s for you—it shifts everything. Suddenly, sleep is about trusting the divine order. It’s a practice, and inside the Sanctuary, you get to practice and be guided.

A Nightly Release Ritual

This is what I do when I feel that weight pressing on me:

Close the day with gratitude. Instead of dwelling on what’s missing, I whisper thanks for the smallest things—a nourishing meal, the roof over my head, the chance to begin again tomorrow.

Put the house to sleep. I close the curtains, wash the dishes, and dim the lights. As I do, I thank God for the day and the beautiful space that gives me peace and joy.

Pray – Meditate

Breathe it out. With each exhale, I let go of fear and worry. With each inhale, I invite in peace and calm. Let yourself relax with each exhale.

The world doesn’t need more women running on empty. It doesn’t need us to be anxious, reactive, or exhausted.

The world needs us rested. Rooted.

And that only happens when we trust that the universe is kind—that it is always conspiring in our favor, always redirecting us back to our path of love, purpose, and peace.

A Blessing for Tonight

If your mind is busy with the future or stuck in the past

May gratitude soften your heart, and may sleep come as an act of grace.

May you remember that you are held in a loving, generous universe that wants to see you flourish.

You are not meant to carry it all, even if it feels like it. Surrender, grace, and faith– the feminine virtues to take with you when it feels hard.
